Subject: RE: S13 Lsds
The
later S13 style viscous LSD uses a left side axle with 2 sets of slpines on
it. One spline connect to the side gear and the second set of splines to the
viscous clutch pack. The Viscous clutch pack is only approximately 12 mm thick
and wea out very quickly with any decent torque put through them. Also the
make them work you must use the axles that came with the centre. Also there
are two spline distances on the left axle depending on model. All to much
trouble.
I
also looked at changing the later viscous diffs to early clutch pack, but this
is also a pain due to crown wheel offset distances being
different.
