Thanks Errol, I am still in the primitive world of normally aspirated motors so I guess the 180 will do. One day I'll go the SR20DET path and upgrade the diff. One day........ An R200 is infinitely more reliable in any application with a bit of grunt. They used R200's as stock in later Z's and an R200 Clutch pack in S12 silvias behind CA18DET's so why would nissan waste money if they thought they could get away with an R180LSD. The 720 ute 4WD has an R180 fron tdif but is not LSD stock. One spline connect to the side gear and the second set of splines to the viscous clutch pack. The Viscous clutch pack is only approximately 12 mm thick and wea out very quickly with any decent torque put through them. Also the make them work you must use the axles that came with the centre. Also there are two spline distances on the left axle depending on model. All to much trouble.
