OK, I
like the vent hole open myself, can't say I'm fussed about the big stock
Japaclocks though - I think I have a few working ones buried somewhere around
here if you want a spare.
I've
done gauges just about everyway when it comes to a 1600 - I don't like
under the ashtray all that much in just a gauge holder as you can see wires and
crap all over the place. In a console is good, I've seen some good ideas over
time with them there. What does look good is a 240K or 180B GX console with the
gauges fitted in the hole for the radio - some folk use 2" polypipe and even cut
it at an angle towards the driver. My preference is to mount the gauges in
the standard radio position, easy to make up a nice face plate i.e. much
higher up so you don't have to look down to see them and re-fit the radio/head
unit in the console. The way that I see it you spend a lot more time looking at
your gauges than your radio.
regards
Terry

fully imported idiot light system !!
i guess i'm asking if most people build a console and house the gauges in there or attach them under the ash tray.
i don't want to lose my current dash as it's in perfect condition and as for the air vent - QLD heat is a major issue !!
cheers.
