Mark,

We used a single 10" or 12" Davies Craig fan slimline fan without a shroud
(I have both sizes but never used them together) as the engine never
overheated with the N13 radiator. The DR30 actually had all electric fans,
two of them and both reasonably large, one that ran for water cooling and
the other one was only used in conjunction with the a/c compressor. I would
think that the N13 fans that you have were run in the same way. 23" of water
cooling for a A15? engine would be totally over the top.

Can you fit your 12" fan on the Pulsar radiator - you can get a Davies Craig
bolt set from REPCO.

hehehe, I can see why you called it freddo - things look like they get a bit
warm above the turbo going by the look of the paint under the bonnet on the
pass side. Pretty blue pssst device noticed.

regards
Terry

Terry,
yeah, the water pump is the problem - do you know the origin of your fan
if it is aftermarket or is all customised from the OEM N13 one? The N13
fans I have are welded on reasonable heavy frame, 1 x 10" and 1 x 13" -
nearly a goer except where that dang water pump pokes it's noise
through - don't spose I'd gain much by removing the cover? What about a
bolt-in fan on the water pump - is that what DR-30's came with? (though
it would have to be small and therefore inadequate given the proximity
to the bottom the radiator and lower chassis brace...

Looking at the old and perfectly fine 12" fan i pulled out I was tempted
to go back to the replacement of the Hyundai radiator - I could be
driving around again in 20 mins but it sits way too high as seen here:
