Pete,

240K tops are around 10mm (7/16") lower than 1600 tops but the bolt pattern
is a tad different - no drama if you don't mind (I don't have a problem with
it, it's legal in most places) elongating your tower strut retaining holes.

Your springs are not captive now and you want to lower them more? Seriously,
don't do it, go and buy some captive springs to suite your struts at the
spring rate you desire (stiff is 175#, racing is 200+#) and the height you
desire. Springs that are not captive are dangerous - that's why they are
banned on the street, and even from most forms of motor sports.

regards
Terry

Subject: 240k strut tops

Hi all,
is it true that 240k strut tops have a 1/2 inch lowering advantage over
200b/1600
tops???
I need to lower my front end by about 30-40mm however I don't need spring
compressors to remove my spring now. What will happen if I cut them down
even
further?

Pete.
