G'day Andrew,

Sounds like a good goal to me but what are the other implications of
different engines etc effecting corner weights? On my current car I am
not set up for ride height adjustment and are limited to parts I can
scounge around for. I don't have the info for suspension measurements
yet either.

And what heights are an optimum balance between

Summary,

Low front = bump steer

Low back = toe out.

I'll expand on the toe problem with 240K springs in the rear toe was 9mm
on the passenger side and 6mm on the drivers side. ie 15 mm of total toe
out on the back. I tried some much lower cut springs and the toe out was
a lot worse. I spoke to CM510 and he said he had 1 inch toe out at each
side! Last year I slotted the rear crossmember and have 1mm drivers side
and 3mm toe out on the passenger side. I can tell you some diabolical
stories of handling at the track before I put the bump stops in and
slotted the crossmember. The bump stops limit wheel movement to about
2-3 inches and act like a sway bar as they compress a tapered rubber
shape. Some people chop the top off to get more travel. I don't
recommend this as it changes the "roll rate" so when you do impact them
they are bloody hard.

I bought two dial guages last year to investigate toe change verses
wheel travel. I've got a few more jobs to do before I get to it.

Cheers
Trev
