Ryan,

When i did this on my L24 I had the same problem, not wanting to spend 
the 'however long' to pull the timing cover off and fix it i just tried 
putting the wedge back down the front of the timing cover to separate the 
chain guides just that fraction and it was enough to get the sprocket 
back on. Mind you i then had to rotate spin it to fit on number 2 hole. I 
guess because the chain had tightened that little bit. But i put mine all 
back together and it worked fine.
Work a try perhaps? Dodgy as.. but still worth a try.
