Yes, Air dry enamel.

Depends what sort of "Acrylic" you are talking about:

Acrylic Enamel (aka 2K aka 2 pot) over Air Dry Enamel - no problems.

Acrylic Lacquer (aka 1K) over Air Dry Enamel - Officially you can't do it.  
Practically you can if you are careful.

The problem is that the Lacquer paint, especially some primers (especially 
Croda/Ameron!) react with the enamel, causing bubbling and blistering.  
Mostly on feathered edges.

You can deal with it by:

a) Dusting a couple of light coats before laying it on heavy
b) Trying a few brands of paint - some are worse than others (perhaps ask 
around at panelbeater shops).
c) Using an intermediate coat of 2 pot primer. Wait for it to totally dry 
before overcoating.
