I was told by a paint shop that primer was good enough, on a rubbed back surface. I did this to my 1600 a year ago and seems fine - still not running though :(
I have also heard of a product that acts as a barrier between paints, haven't seen it though.

datto 1600's were mainly enamel paint yes?

whats the deal with painting acrylic on enamel and vice versa?

is it true that acrylic won't go on top of enamel? if so, what preparation needs to be done to paint acrylic on top? not including sandblasting.
