Alan
I think you would be better advised to put inserts into your struts?
I'm not sure at all that the originals can be rebuilt.
Inserts are so easy.
Just as an aside have u considered the cost of upgrading your struts to something that can take decent brakes before you spend money on standard stuff? Its very easy to do and I reckon the cost would be minimal.
Cheers
Mick

Subject: Rebuilding 1600 struts.

List,
I have the original struts in my 1600 and am going to have a go at rebuilding them today.  They've got about as much friction as a spoon in a bowl of custard, so they need it badly. For this reason I'm pretty sure the O ring will need replacing.  I've never had a set appart before, so I was wondering if this O ring is just the regular type you'd find in a tap fitting or whatever, or if they need to be ordered at an automotive shop.

Thanks.
