Alan,   You can rebuild stock struts, and I recommend that you use motor cycle fork oil (stock is 5w, 10w is firm, 15-20w is racing). Just as an aside have u considered the cost of upgrading your struts to something that can take decent brakes before you spend money on standard stuff?
