What heat range spark plugs are you using? Have you checked thermostat? Did you flush radiator?

Now, i have twin 40mm delortoes, series 2 bluey dizzy, i set the timing on about 8-9deg. i have the standard radiator running single 10" thermo, no fan on front of motor,pretty new thermostat, There was a lot of fumes in the garage. Am i right to think that the carbies are WAY out of tune and its running extremely rich, or is it something else, i think we stopped the motor when the guage reached 197 F.
