OT: The Nats and summer travelling

Just got back from a little summer drivin' up the NSW mid-North Coast 
from Canberra to Coffs Harbour and back again - 2,098 kms all up 
(little too ambitious for my Datto so the trip was in my wife's car!) 
Can't say i saw too many Dattos about other than a 200b or two and nice 
Z at Coffs Hbr. Made sure to leave the pacific hwy for some scenic 
detours (Forster, Great Lakes, Crescent head, Nambucca Heads and then 
the Port Macquarie -> Ocean rd via Laurieton on the return)
Passed some Nats entrants on trailers today on their way down the Hume 
to Nats. I haven't been for some years but am curious as to what level 
of 4cyl take part as I expect V8 dominate?
