Not sure exactly what they're called but that sounds like what I'm talking
about, mate has one and it really puts you back in the seat, his partner
drives a Tickford 5.0 Fairlane & it leaves it for dead, but so does the R31.
The BA sits on the road like glue up to 160kph and even has good brakes -
nice car for the money. Still no where near as much fun as a 1600/FJt though
(-:

So Terry you're talking non-turbo Barra 182kw/380Nm @ ~1700kg? (falcon
XT auto kerb weight is 1694kg) - the drive-line really interests me in
the falcons.
I've been spending my Sat at Canberra pickles auctions and have been
bouncing between whatever sells cheap which means each w/end I come
home with a different car in mind (Magna Tj2, VXII and lately XT Barra
182 - so much so ended up at the ford dealers to see how sparse the
base XT was - suprisingly good: tip-tronic, electric drivers seat,
100W CD + str wheel cntrl, ABS, dual a/bag, IRS, trip computer, pwr fr
wind hmm couple of factory 'sports' going for $32,990 or less + ORC
which adds 17", sports IRS, subtle body kit...surely exhuast and chip
will see an easy 195-200kw?! Big wheels and heavily dumped in the right
colour I think even the basic BA looks sweet! Get the 5.4 and I got the
poor man's DJR special if only I could get the valencio orange
hue...and a few more kws.

Hmm if I just pulled my finger out and engineered the 1600 I'd be
$30-40k better off!
