Mark. Is your battery in the boot?? What quality wire did you use to run from the battery to the engine bay??
Zac or Tom had problems with his ECU not long ago, (I spoke to one of them on MIRC about this subject) ( was very drunk at the time so I don't remember which one it was) anyhow it turned out the quality of the main power wire from the battery was not too good, he brought the batery to the front of te car, hooked up a standard lead, and she fired and ran straight away. He was using welder power wire which is very restrictive, very small copper precentage, reason for this is welders get moved heaps, and if you use good copper wire, they snap internally, or even worse melt. So they use stiffer wire, and just pump up the amps. You can not do this in a car. Just a thought mate. Later.
