Mohit

They are the same left to right, just make sure that the big bolts are pointing out the other direction before welding the tapered tubes back in.

Hi there,

chris i think what you say that is much easier to do and its not a big hassel.i will just grind off the tapered tube and weld them the other way round.

by the way do i have to swap the tube too from left too right.

mohit.

Yeah mohit you dont cut the actual crossmember, you need to make up a jig to
hold the big bolts in their correct position, then grind away the welds
around the tapered tubes. You then reverse these and reweld using the jig to
align them correctly

Are you sure about that Rick? I've never seen it done like that. In the popular off the shelf kits, I am pretty sure that they just ground off the washers that hold the control arm studs in place then moved the stud around to the opposite side and rewelded it in place. Then refit it to the car and LCAs.

Mohit, do you have Datsun 810 there?

Quoting sss510 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

 Mohit.
You need to fit a reversed Xmember.

Your Xmember needs to be cut twice, and the centre peice needs to be re
welded back into place, but with the middle section facing the other
direction mate.

   Hi guys,

   I have a problem and i need ideas.im fitting a FJ20 in my 510 and i
removed the cross member yesterday and tried to fit it the other way
around.but only the two no.14 bolts line up first as i have to make the
hole
slightly bigger for the other two holes.is that normal with you guys.

Now how do i fit the lower arm.as its bolt which fits one way and it
cant
fit from the other side.what i think is ,do i have to make the hole bigger
on
the rear end and on the front side i have weld a washer of the size of the
bolt to keep it in place.

cheers mohit.
