How are you going to do the extra 4 or 5 mm stroke?

I thought 88mm was the safe maximum on the W block? That would give
around 1,996cc with a 4mm stroke which seems feasible.

With an 89mm bore and a 83mm stroke (+5mm) that would give 2,066cc.

What I question is why the LZ2.1/2.2 engine is more popular and not this
way. Is the crank better and stronger than the L18 one?

I would like to hear about anyone who has experience of this L18 setup
and how successful it is.
