Aren't Delusional and Optimistic two different things? Why couldnt you say this country is too collectively delusional in parts (rapture etc) but don't give optimism a totally naive pollyanna bent...it does not have to be. A suicidal person has to have an optimist just beneath the skin to live another day:)
Unfortunate that we don't celebrate reality even in our "reality tv".
