Oh man! What am I in for with this old slushy 240D?
An exercise in patience, I'd say. Can anybody tell me what the normal driving/shifting characteristics of this 79 240D would be? It seems reluctant to downshift on its own which doesn't help matters any. (And rarely [if ever] starts out in 1 unless the lever is in L.) But the linkage is already pulling as hard on the tranny's lever as will let the throttle go to full stop. -- Jim
