Using a TDC indicator of some sort ( a stick, light pressure/vacuum
gauge) will give you true crank position and the marks up top are
what they are. I would say almost no likelyhood of cam/sprocket
misalignment but there's a first time for everything.
I repeated the stretch measurement, and done _properly_ I get about 6 degrees of stretch. Last time I had lined up on the RPM sensor bracket rather than the timing indicator. What a bozo! So, no huge smoking guns yet. -- Jim
