The Probe, IIRC, was engineered by Mazda and to my mind wins an award for a bad
car name. Cool car though.
I'm led to believe the Focus is a European design.

The reason that the 124 looks like most modern cars is that every asian
car
built in the past 15-18 years I can think of has essential body style
features copied from the 124 or the 140. The exception is the miata
and
its knock-offs. Many "American" cars follow the same pattern of
following
Mercedes Benz. I put American in quotes because some are aisian
cars. Ford focus and probe come to mind.

It's bad, but I think the award really needs to go to the Daihatsu
Charade. (Maybe it was only pretending to be a car.)

Other names I've singled out for badness:
- Chevrolet Citation
- GM Impact (original name for the EV-1)
- Subaru Brat

It was never sold in the U.S., to my knowledge, but Suzuki once made a
car called the Every Joy Pop Turbo. And Toyota made one called the
MasterAce. (Just think about it for a bit.)
