My memories of my 5 speed 190D are a bit distant, but fourth at 55 didn't 
seem all that outlandish. The 60x are a seemingly less torquey, higher
revving (but more efficient) version of the 61x.

I put up with it, and enjoyed the 40+mpg doing 80 in fifth, knowing that
unlike in a honda, I'd most likely survive a wreck. If it was me, I'd 
either speed up, or not worry about it. 61x's likely had longer strokes
meaning more low end torque, but lacking Marshall, who knows.
