No, not even a hint of firing after being perfect ffor awhile.  That's why I'm 
thinkiing relay.

Did the car start? It could be something as simple as the bulb in the 
dash or it could be the controller itself. Have you checked if there is 
power at the glow plugs and the dash light? I would check those things 
as a start. Also check if you get power at one or both poles of the fuse 
strip. Of course all those are to be done with the key turned to on and 
then do the checks real quick before the controller (if it is not the 
problem) times out and turns the power off.

That's about all I can think of. Hope some of it helps.

I think my car is getting concerned that I hire out about all
  maintenance these days, and wants me to get my hands dirty.  The other
  possibility is that as it turned over 299k miles it started getting 
vain about
  hitting the big 30[0] and put a stop to it.  For whatever reason, when I
  got in this morning there was no glow plug light.  The strip fuse is
  good, so I ordered a kit for it.  Anything I might be missing here, or
  tips on putting the new one in?
