   Huh!  Actually that's interesting.  The default kernel and the kernels that 
I build for myself all have modules that are .ko -- the .ko.gz mean that 
they've been compressed into a gzip.  That's not a problem, that's a good 
thing, and it makes me wonder if I can build the modules in the same way if I 
wanted to.

   It helps that you have interesting questions.  ;-)  And to be honest I 
perhaps like answering questions because of a _lack_ of patience.  If I had 
more patience I'd likely be deeper into certain software projects of mine 
than I currently am.  :-P
