It was my impression that the software that comes with the sort of printer scanner that sends faxes usually sends the fax via modem. There probably are web sites that will send it for you, but faxes I thought weren't usually sent via broadband.
I self build no operating system kit won't know what platform it is being built for, and the person choosing the hardware has to get it right on his own.
