Also there are lots of places that will sell you prebuilt computers with
Linux on them.

Finally, either way you go, I would recommend taking a look at the
information and links from this site:
http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw

Obviously this list isn't comprehensive, but it may help a lot in finding
some things that are Linux friendly.
