When I first signed up for Comcast broadband, I said I would be using it 
with Linux, and the sales rep said "no problem, we have plenty of people 
using that already".

Well, now that I think of it, they were still RCN at the time, later 
bought by Suscom, then Comcast.  The Comcast reps might not know as much 
about it.  Will probably go with DSL our next apartment/house (wherever 
we end up).  But I'd expect Comcats to work no problem (just put the 
router in the appropriate place).  Which reminds me that I still have to 
test my wireless router to see if it still works OK.
