I use Crossover for several programs but still must reboot to WinXP for
Crosstalk
as XP in Parallels or Crosstalk in Crossover will not connect to the
mainframe.
Crosstalk is not replaceable. Parallels runs Winfax, as I have a USB
modem that
Linux will not use but XP thru Parallels will.
Beware of Quicken-I used 2006 with Crossover and it ran perfectly, but
every so
many months it would "forget" the entire days work, and it would not be
on the
backup done upon closing it either. I had to print the transactions
every time I
was done to be sure I had a copy of them. Can't be sure, but knowing
what kind
of company Quicken is I believe that it gets pissed when not allowed to
"phone
home" for a certain amount of time and punishes you. Quickbooks has done the
same thing to them at work where it is on XP.
I ended up going with Moneydance, which seems fine so far.
