Avoid using Wine. Not only is it very slow running, but I am told it is
the best way to get a Linux machine to run a windows virus.
I liked Fast Stone, but it is easy to download an honorable program from
a site that poses as a mirror and puts viruses into a good windows program.
I have picked up at least a half dozen viruses from Download.com over
the years, several of which mounted in the master boot record and ran
right after the bios screen, before anti-virus programs had a chance to
look for it.

Would like to migrate from Windows to Linux for my Graphics Apps.
While some like GIMP are available for both, there are others like
FastStone Image Viewer that are Windows only so would have to run under
Wine.
The App Database may not be up to date for Graphics but many of the
Windows only apps I use are listed working which is good.
Am interested in any suggestions concerning distros or any recent
experence concerning this.
Thanks
