1) yes to a 2nd list or use of tags. I agree, once conversations are moved there they are probably dead, but it saves me hitting delete :) 2) no to changing the name. A LUG is a LUG. While I enjoy the use of open source where it makes sense, I'd be happy to attend a presentation comparing EC2 management tools like Rightscale (commercial) and scalr (open source). Of course, I live in CA, so odds are good I won't be attending anything soon...
