My 2 cents, we need to attract professionals and maintain that as a focus to
keep them engaged. There is quality of responses on this list ( for the most
part ) and our presentations are impressive at the least compared to even
the NYC LUGS.

The problem I have personnel run in to when trying to recruit speakers or
new members that would be a good fit is our name. They just do not want to
deal with Linux zealots. Since we are defining our selves as more then that,
we may want a more general name to market with.

Now I'm NOT suggesting dropping MHVLUG, but a duel banding that would make
MHVLUG a component of a larger professional society or something. Just want
to invite people to the MHV technical society to talk or attend. If they
have an interest in setting up a Linux server to work on from there new Mac
Book Pro, great! We are the perfect fit. But I hate people telling me they
don't want to feel out of place at a LUG when they own a Apple or Windows
system, we are just NOT about that!

I feel this thread has gone on way to long and it seems that we need a
special meeting to discuss this since people are defiantly interested.
Should we discuss this over dinner or lunch? That is a special meeting not
to interfere with our currently planed events.
