It's worth noting that flash does NOT obey proxy settings in your
browser.  Most people fall foul of this when they try to use a generic
proxy to stream video from another country.

Wrapping the entire browser instance in a proxifier like tsocks or
socksify ought to trap the connect() calls and force flash to use the
proxy.
