I agree with most all responses.

I would give my first born to be offered FIOS in my area...

I have downloaded some files from FIOS customers and sustained download
speeds (their upload speeds) which made me quiver.

I also ran a web/mail server from home.  After power outages and other
uptime related issues I looked into VPS solutions.  The final straw was
accumulating domains increased pay services for my dynamic address
workaround.  This made it a no brainer to get a VPS for ten bucks a
month.  Linode at $20/month had nice added features like creating VPS
images, but was just over my tight budget.

If I ever move, I'd be hard pressed to move to a location with only one
high speed internet provider.

Odd thing about Time Warner.... I have had a couple dynamic address with
port 80 closed and others that were not.

In my opinion why upgrade at $15 per month so you can run a server at
home, if you can get a VPS for the same money with no added electric or
wear and tear on hardware,  not to mention the greater uptime.
