I should take pictures of how the sensor is installed. How it doesn't get rubbed or roasted to death stock (on everyone else's car, at least...), I don't know. For those who have replaced the sensor on an NB before, check my write-up of how I did it and see if it meets with your approval:
http://tinyurl.com/3psryx Once you get the wire up to the front of the valve cover, it meets the same harness as the two wires coming from the airbox (or at least they're all wrapped up in electrical tape together). The harness then runs across the front of the valve cover and over the thermostat neck afterwhich the wiring for the injectors and the TPS join the party. This is 100% stock as far as I can tell. -Bryan --- On Mon, 6/9/08, Adam Wolf <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Adam Wolf <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Update on 2002 Bucking without CEL - The Buck is Back... To: "Miata Power List" <[email protected]> Date: Monday, June 9, 2008, 11:47 AM ya know... the wire on the crank sensor DOES run near some scary looking belts and pulleys. Chances of nicking that wire are pretty darn good. I'd take some time to trace that wire at least back to the firewall and assure myself of there being no nicks in the insulation. Or did you already do this? Keep the faith, Bryan!!! You'll figure it out. Adam On 6/9/08, Bryan Wyatt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Just saw it this morning. Don't seem to be any wires near it, but I'm wondering if the wiring from the aftermarket stereo components are messing with the ECU. Also called about the warranty and the only electric part it covers is the alternator. It was everything I could do to not yell at the guy on the phone and tell him it was completely useless for any actual problems... Since I'm effectively now no worse off, I guess I can look at it myself since I'll be out my own expense anyway (ie no warranty coverage). -Bryan --- On Sun, 6/8/08, Larry Alster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Larry Alster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: Update on 2002 Bucking without CEL - The Buck is Back...
