When I was looking for my current house, we specifically avoided
anything that had an HOA. I'm not sure that means an HOA increases
property values, if some buyers won't even look at your house
because of it.
Keith you are typical and is why HOA areas in our part of the world
either don't do well or the HOA pulls back it's involvement until you
wonder why there is an HOA in the first place.
When we bought our lot the HOA is why we discarded several
neighborhoods. We choose the least restrictive HOA and I still
learned to hate them while building._______________________________________________
