Somebody suggested I take off the oil filler and see if I'm getting a lot of oil splashed out (excessive blowby). I did, and I'd say there was about a drop of oil splashing out every second or so. I didn't see any sign of smoke. Normal?
I'm going to get myself a harbor freight compression tester and try once more to confirm the results.
