5500 is kinder on the gears. ;) Just imagine the destruction if I wound
the car out to 6k or more!

Wally,
Have you considered analog clutch application as an alternative style?

Subject: Fuel pump won't turn off & rear end damage questions
So, repalced the transmission (2nd gear sheered 3 teeth again).. all was
good for 30 miles, then the rear end disintegrated. Leaking fluid out of
the case, makes ungodly noises. Questions:

1 - how do I tell a 7" from the 8"? I assume the car has the bigger rear,
but need to confirm.
2 - Anyone have 4.10 gears (ring and pinion) for sale?
3 - How can I tell if the torsen was damaged? Visual inspection or
functional test or both?

Secondary issue, after the tranny swap and prior to rear-explosion, the
fuel pump would not turn off after prime. Would continue running. Any
ideas on what might have cuased this? Ran fine otherwise...

Thanks,
Wally
