They  weren’t too crash worthy though.   Being a small car in the day of big 
cars and not being too sturdy in a  crash wasn’t an asset.  Girl down  the 
block from me was killed in hers when it folded like a pancake in a crash  on

Oh, no doubt about it.  Few cars could take a hit, especially the  smaller 
ones.  Remember, Crush Zones were in their infancy, there was NO  crash 
testing, 
and most braking systems were akin to what Fred Flintstone used  to use....
