there is little historical significance to this loyalty oath, other
than it is explicitly unconstitutional to require anyone to say it.
and it is only ambiguous if you believe in a certain set of gods.
if you believe in NO GOD, it is not ambiguous at all.
and for some very religious people, it is blasphemous to mention
god's name or associate god with any country or politics, so not
ambiguous there either.
but then I suppose it's a good thing that god blesses america and
curses our enemies.
Personaly, I always figured true believers would rather be on gods
side, than to have god on their side. I've always been kinda
suspicious of people who tell me that god is on their side, being I
always got picked last in phys ed.
do you think god likes broccoli?

That is not only a ambiguous "god" and secondly it is historically
significant.

Speaking of Nazi Germany – or the Taliban – How about this?
Elementary school student taught the “Obama Song”
Young elementary students were taught and required to sing “Obama
songs” in school. One song that the children were taught quotes d
irectly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," thou
gh Jesus' name is replaced with Obama's: "He said red, yellow, bla
ck or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama." W
hen asked about this the school superintendent had this to say "Th
e recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthoriz
ed," wrote Christopher M. Manno, superintendent of Burlington Town
ship School District, in a statement to parents. What? It should
n’t be taught in the schools – I don’t care what president
they’re singing about.

If you wonder why young people are cursing and acting like fried-
brain idiots, just look at MTV.
Or many of the comic "news" programs
