I'm pretty sure all 94 (and only 94) sticks had the torsen and the rear
braces. In '96 they cheaped out and the braces only came on optioned out
cars.

I had a '94A and remember checking equipment options here.  If the car
came with cloth seats it probably didn't have a torsen.  If it did come
with leather seats it probably came with torsen ... and the most
underbody bracing of any year Miata.  The seats may have been replaced
so look for the bracing (half a dozen round steel bars with flatened
ends) under the rear of the body.  AFAIK the '94B (tan top & interior)
did not have the bracing.
