the previous evening. A 20-year old British tourist was taking
pictures during the concert when Gallagher head butted him, breaking
his nose. Gallagher was arrested after the show for assault.
1999 – Country music singer George Jones is severely injured in
critical condition when he crashes his SUV into a bridge outside of
Nashville.
2000 – Eric Clapton is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as
a solo artist, becoming the first person inducted three times - his
first two as members of The Yardbirds and Cream.
2001 – Led Zeppelin is named "the most bootlegged band" when 422
illegal albums are counted. The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and The
Beatles are next with more than 350 bootleg titles available.
2004 – David Crosby is arrested for possession of marijuana, a .45
caliber handgun and a knife after leaving behind one of his bags at a
hotel in Manhattan, which is found by a maid.
2007 – At the request of son Jay Richardson, the casket of J.P. "The
Big Bopper" Richardson is exhumed in Beaumont, Texas, and his remains
are examined by doctors, who confirm that no foul play took place
aboard the plane which crashed in 1959, killing Richardson, Ritchie
Valens and Buddy Holly.
2009 – Rapper Coolio is arrested at the Los Angeles Airport for
possession of crack cocaine.
2009 – Michael Jackson, in London to announce his O2 concerts, is
mobbed by screaming fans as he takes his two youngest children to see
Oliver! at the Drury Lane Theatre.
2010 – R&B singer D'Angelo is arrested at the wheel of his Range Rover
in New York after paying $40 for sex with an undercover police officer
posing as a prostitute.
