Beautiful” at Radio Recorders in Hollywood.
1960 – Fats Domino records "Walking To New Orleans" at J&M Studios in
New Orleans.
1962 – The Orlons record "The Wah Watusi" at Cameo-Parkway Studios in
Philadelphia.
1964 – While on tour in Scotland, The Beatles are interviewed by
Evelyn Elliot with a BBC Scotland camera crew at the Roman Camp Hotel
in Callander, Perthshire, where the group is staying. The piece is
shown that evening on the BBC 1 news show Six Ten. During the
afternoon, the group visits Glasgow's Theatre Royal studios to record
a contribution for the Scottish television show Roundup, where they
chat to hosts Morag Hood and Paul Young, but don't perform. In the
evening, The Beatles play two shows at the Odeon Cinema in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, in the United States, The Beatles are paid $140,000 for the
rights to have their pictures included on bubble gum cards.
1965 – Bob Dylan begins his UK tour at the City Hall in Sheffield.
1965 – Herman's Hermits make their U.S. stage debut with The Zombies
as opening act.
1965 – The Kinks begin their first British tour as headliners at the
Adelphi Cinema in Slough. Also on the bill are The Yardbirds, Goldie
and The Gingerbreads, Jeff and Jon, The Riot Squad, and Val McKenna.
1967 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Walker Brothers, Engelbert
Humperdinck and Cat Stevens wrap up their package tour with two shows
at the Granada Theatre in Tooting.

1970 – Allman Brothers road manager Twiggs Lyndon is arrested for
murdering a club manager in Buffalo, New York over a contract dispute
after the band showed up 15 minutes late to their gig. At the ensuing
trial, Lyndon's lawyers argued that he had been temporarily insane at
the time of the incident because touring with The Allman Brothers Band
would drive anyone insane. Lyndon was found not guilty.
1976 – In New York City, Keith Moon pays nine cab drivers $100 each to
block off each end of the street so he can throw all his hotel
furniture out the window.
1977 – Led Zeppelin sets an attendance record when 76,229 people see
their show at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.
1977 – Steve Miller’s single “Jet Airliner” enters the Billboard Hot
100 at # 71.
1980 – Roger Daltry premieres in his first acting role in the film,
McVicar.
1983 – The original members of Manfred Mann reunite for the 25th

2008 – The tattered remains of Roger Waters' inflatable pig, which
