Hi,

This is Brian Yanity, a graduate student in the fluid mechanics lab
at the University of Alaska-Anchorage. As part of our
investigations of using Alaska's tidal currents for power
generation. At the research flume here at UAA, we are testing
micro-scale in-stream hydroelectric turbines. I was wondering if
anyone on the list-serve has used DC trolling motors (made for
boats), can be effectively run backwards as in-stream generators.
They would be perfect for our flume experiments, but I wanted to
know if anyone had tried it.

thanks,

Brian Yanity
