It works now. Although the faulty php module was linked against the new
libmidgard, it seems that the proper mod_midgard must be installed
before compiling php...

Anyways, I recompiled and installed php after installing the new module
and everythjing is up and running.

So, for the record, Alexander's beta4 tar.bz2 works with apache 1.3.6
after upgrading mgd_apache.c from cvs and applying Emile's most recent
patch.

Now, I am upgrading the admin site to snippet capablities and go ahead
to explore that.

Thanks to everyone for all the help...

Frank
