Is there a common thread to the issues with the 1xxx models? I'm assuming it's a hardware thing, but I've heard people on both sides of the fence. Some say they're crap, others say they've had them in service since they came out and have had no issues. The track record isn't good overall, but if there's some commonality to the issues, it's worth weighing in to the decision considering the price vs. a purpose built appliance that will do passthrough.
