Dear Lady, I would think you kept better mental notes than that. The 'thing' in the mind is the connection to the higher power that gives credence to the personal religion. It is the 'thing' which I hope to make known as the common link of mankind instead of the personal justifier/glorification.
But I also know that anything which is contrary to ones personal religion activates the fear of the unknown and disconnects the line of thought and makes one deny or ignore the idea being presented. I have said, in different ways, that the higher power would be the influencing element of change. The disconnect you have had with the dogmatic religion has also disconnected the belief that there is any higher power capable of such influence.
