As an aside, there is an op/ed in the NYTimes today on anger and its
relation to heart problems. A couple of pages of comments by readers
were very interesting, also. Remember the Seven Deadly Sins in your
old prayerbook or catechism? Being ticked off is one thing-wrath and
vengenge, another. Is evil programmed or learned? What about virtue?
Wasn't the spleen/bile the source of anger in the Middle Ages- the
humors. No mention was made of ulcers in what I read- why not? But
someone did mention the connection or disconnection between fear and
anger. Is courage a display of righteous anger? How are warriors
trained to kill? How to accept collateral damage in a war zone- a poor
court decision- an insult. Not speaking out against evil was also
considered a sin. Why is the word evil and not adim? :-) //As another
aside- my neighbor got a hedge trimmer for father's day and will save
me some dough by trimming the row of evergreens on Monday along my
drive. On the downside, that plumbing repair/ raw earth is not breeding
grass and weeds as I had hoped and is being compromised by rain so I
left a message for M to fix it=$$$. I am ticking/ticked offf.lol
