I agree that convict testimony is suspect and damn near useless.
Generally I believe the most likely reason/outcome/motivation is the
correct one.  If I was an evil CIA conspirator and I thought this guy
had the goods on me he would have fallen down the steps or been in a
car accident or committed suicide long ago.  If I wanted to leave a
message to anyone else thinking of ratting me out I'd of just made him
disappear. A la Jimmy Hoffa.

Conspiracy theories can be fun sitting around the campfire but most
people discount them for a very good reason.  They just aren't very
plausible.  That said, occasionally the kook is right.  So I say keep
at it.  I support yellow journalism and muckraking as important
aspects of freedom and I would never attempt to silence them.  As
silly as they sometimes sound; we need people like Glen Beck et al. to
keep the big boys honest.
