I perfectly understand Rigsy's position; it's one I held, and defended, when I was a teenager. It's cute, idealistic, and whimsical. Nothing wrong with that exactly, but shunning the role of an editor, believing writing ability to be "divine", and thinking out a "complete" first draft (!!!)... these are ideas are not to be taken very seriously by someone seeking advice on writing. In fact, they're downright unhelpful.
There also seems to be this unsophisticated here idea that all literature is lofty high-art. Most of it isn't, but it's a fine craft nonetheless.
