I was thinkng about this very thing last night and a bit of this
morning on the way to work. I was thinking when did the spirit of
sacrifice of the generation that went to war and the generation that
grew up just after the war end, and spirit of 'I can't do this
without help' start?

It seems that many people seem to first ask for aid before trying to
sort their own proplems out, umm or maybe I'm just getting a wee bit
synical and grumpish as I get older?
